A space for body and breath

Welcome to 196 Yoga, where we invite self-discovery and transformation through embodied practices, including yoga, dance and mindfulness.

We teach effective techniques for grounding and strengthening your body and nervous system, while holding space for gentle inner enquiry, and emergent creativity.

Founded in 2017 by Yanna Romano (RYT500), this offering embodies her 13-year personal practice and accredited trainings at The Shala Cape Town Yoga School and Institute for Mindfulness in South Africa.

A heartbeat in the city

196 Yoga is housed by an iconic Tudor-style hotel built in the 1860s that has been lovingly refurbished and transformed into a creative center for movement, art, music and community.

At 196 Victoria you'll find potters, poets, vinyl selectors, dancers, dreamers and change-makers. Pop into Plushi for some vegan sushi, join Clay Hands for a course in ceramics, and dip into the Listening Room on Thursday evenings for auditory adventures.

Come to rejuvenate your spirit at this inspiring place and pulse in the heart of Woodstock.

You are welcome to bring your own mat, but we also provide high-quality mats for all students to use during classes at no extra cost.
  • What style of yoga do you offer at your studio?
